Ramsgate-specific notes

Regency plaster. Original lime-plaster on the West Cliff Regency terraces cracks along ceiling-wall junctions and around chimney breasts. Standard filler doesn't take. We use a flexible acrylic filler and, on bad cracks, scrim tape underneath. Holds through the seasonal movement.

Salt-facing exterior. Anything on the seafront elevation takes salt spray. A vinyl-emulsion masonry paint that's rated for standard UK conditions fails in three years here. Weathershield Extreme or Sandtex 15-year gets you fifteen. It's the difference between a repaint every visit and a repaint every fifteen years.

Colour matching Regency. The West Cliff conservation-area streetscape has a small palette of acceptable exterior colours. We know which ones the Thanet DC officer will and won't approve at consultation.

Timing

A double bedroom repaint is a full day. A whole two-bed flat is three to four days. Exterior masonry on a two-storey terrace is a week including prep and second coat.

Pricing

£180 per day for interior. £250 per day for exterior (higher because of scaffolding, weather windows and paint spec). Paint at cost - we can supply if you want.
