Doors that stick, hinges that squeak, cabinet handles that won't stay on, a window catch that never closed properly. We book a half-day or a full day, work through the list, and leave you with everything ticked off.
Regency sash windows. The West Cliff Regency terraces have original box-sash windows on most upper floors. The sash cords are typically nylon or the last cotton set fitted in the eighties. When one goes we replace both cords on that sash - a single-side replacement lasts about a year before the other cord fails and you're paying twice.
Victorian internal doors. The four-panel doors in the older stock are usually original. They swell in November, stick in February, ease up in April. Planing the leading edge is a five-minute job that stops the annual re-hang cycle.
Cabinet-hinge fatigue. Fifteen-year-old kitchen carcasses on the West Cliff and East Cliff second-home rentals have hinges that have taken more slams than they were rated for. Blum-compatible replacements are a stock item on the van.
A half-day slot covers three to five small items. A full day covers eight to twelve depending on complexity. Send us the list first - we'll tell you honestly whether it's a half or a full.
£70 to £120 for a half-day callout on one or two items. £180 to £250 for a booked half-day with a list. £320 to £420 for a full day. Materials at cost with receipts.
